RehabilitationStaff and associates of this Institute see about 1,100 people for rehabilitation programmes every year – and this is just a fraction of the demand, hardly surprising because every person we have seen has returned to work within six months. Why is this? Our approach has been developed from methodologies designed by us to help people who have experienced sudden trauma, or very high-level anxieties spread over longer periods, to leave behind that part of their history and to develop a fulfilling future. Recurring memories are processed properly and underlying beliefs are audited by the client so that they can change the perceptions which cause them distress and fortify those which help them to gain confidence and positivity. We are pioneers in applying these new methodologies to people reporting symptoms associated with work-related stress. As a neutral, charitable institute, we are ideally based to overcome the increasingly prevalent dilemma for organisations of how best to communicate with absent employees without attracting accusations of intrusive contact in any later tribunal or compensation hearings. We are both transparently non-commercial and, by law, have the wellbeing of people affected by job-stress as our first duty of care. Whether bullying, work-load, communication or rôle dichotomies are cited as the central problem, for many people simple, easy-to-address symptoms associated with job-stress often lead to them leaving work, to financial impotency and to a spiral of control loss which frequently results in broken relationships and homes. Yet early diagnosis and treatment of job-stress is easy. People who access job-stress rehabilitation are less likely to experience long-term effects from job-stress and the chances of them resorting to Law – either through a tribunal or through the courts for compensation – are greatly reduced. What that means is that everyone – employers, employees and their families - win if the reporting of job-stress symptoms in an organisation is easy and outside their normal work hierarchy. Early identification and action is crucial. And simple. rehabilitation@eurgology.org
